Program Note
Witold is an average young man at first glance. He’s been planning the expedition to the Himalayas, as his father did and where he died. However, he is facing his mother’s death, and a petty corruption at his job leads to him being framed and robbed of his only desire to climb mountains in Himalayas. The only person who doesn’t leave him alone is nurse Grazyna who tended to his mother.

Krzysztof ZANUSSI
Born in Warsaw, Krzysztof Zanussi studied at Warsaw University and Lodz Film School. His directing career began in 1966 and he has directed for cinema, television, and theater. His filmography includes The Structure of Crystal (1969), Illumination (1973), Camouflage (1976), The Contract (1980), Paradigma (1985), The Silent Touch (1992). In Full Gallop (1996), Supplement (2002), and Persona Non Grata (2005).
