The unique world of Asian martial arts and the puppet theatre of Taiwan meet at the Legend of the Sacred Stone. Four hundred years ago, Monster Mo Kuei comes to stir the rivers and the lakes, and Su Huan-jen beats Monster Mo Kuei with the help of the masters.
Su Huan-jen sets off to find the Heaven Stone to safeguard the peace, and he meets the beautiful Jian Ru-bing, whose father is Lord Jian, the former respected master who transformed into the terrible shape after he was attacked by Demon. He uses his daughter to regain face and mastery, and Su Huan-jen, Ching Yang-zi, and Ao-hsiao Hong-zhen who enjoy the wandering life become to fall for her. Ao-hsiao Hong-zhen and Jian Ru-bing? love grows deeper and deeper, and Lord Jian finally finds the Heaven Stone.
Huang Chung-Hwa and Huang Wen-Cheh, following the Taiwanese puppet theatre tradition, bring the actions from the martial arts movie and the special effects of the animation for the modern representation of the puppet theatre. Thanks to their efforts, Legend of the Sacred Stone becomes the unique piece mixing modern entertainment and theatrical tradition. All the voices of puppet characters in this film come from Huang Wen-Cheh. (Kwon Yong-Min)

Huang Chung-Hwa was born in a family of puppet theatre. After he took over the responsibility of Huang‘s puppet theatre, he incessantly explores new possibilities of puppet theatre to revive the traditional Taiwanese culture. Until now, he has written 20 screenplays of 560 serials.
