Program Note
The film touches on the subject of the widening gap between the rich and poor, the powerful and the insignificant, representative of the overall situation in the Philippines today. The story is about a down-and-out church photographer who is taunted by an evil being outside the church.

Raymond Red
Raymond Red is one of the most prominent figures of modern Filipino alternative cinema. He began by making numerous experimental and narrative super-8mm and 16mm short films in the 1980s and immediately gained recognition. He is the first and so far only Filipino to have won the prestigious Palme d’Or award at the 2000 Cannes Film Festival for his short film [Anino].
