Program Note
The love of contemporary people is too complicated to express with traditional language. People set off to find the right ones in order to escape from their loneliness, however, find themselves in the shadow of love, lonelier than before. This is what happens to the three main characters in this film. A music teacher, whose unhappy marriage depresses her, begins to feel attracted to her student. A woman, who was happy to find the man of her dreams, finds another side of him. And a computer nerd, seething with an unspeakable desire, escapes his gray, mundane life into the colorful world of the Internet, but this turns out to be just a daydream. Can they escape from an unsatisfactory reality if they find love? Stories about Love is an omnibus film constituted by three stories from three young directors. Each story has its own color. These three different episodes come together to become a report on contemporary love and desire. In addition to the modern interpretation of a familiar theme, Stories about Love′s other charm is that the production was totally made through the digital system. This film will let us know the present situation of digital film making, which forms the apparent trend in today′s cinema. (Kwon Yong-Min)
