Indonesia in 2032. Gaspar, a somewhat punky amateur detective, investigates a government-involved mass slaughter case. During the process, he stumbles upon clues about his friend who disappeared without a trace during childhood and traces a human trafficking villain. However, due to a malfunctioning artificial heart, Gaspar has only twenty-four hours left to live. With little time remaining, aided by friends Agnes and Kick, he seeks to exact revenge. The film, directed by Indonesia’s accomplished filmmaker Yosep Anggi Noen, showcases a rapid-paced storyline and delightful visual transitions that could be described as Noen’s bold transformation. The exceptional performances by the talented actors such as Reza Rahadian, Shenina Cinnamon, Laura Basuki also add to the allure. (PARK Sungho)
