In his first English-language film, Talullah H. Schwab has presented a mystery about a man trapped. This marks a somewhat unexpected shift from her previous work, Confetti Harvest (2014), which was a drama about a cute rural girl. However, the underlying theme of both films is quite similar: the story of a misunderstood being escaping an oppressive space. In this film, there is a magician who views humans as lonely beings aimlessly drifting through the cosmos. After his performance, he finds himself unable to locate the exit of the hotel where he plans to spend the night. There’s no need to recall Stephen King’s works just because it brings a closed space in a hotel. This film combines Barton Fink and The Tenant with a touch of Delicatessen, creating a marvelous blend of black comedy and bizarre adventure. Like a magic trick that can’t be solved with plain insight, the hidden exit offers no easy access. In the end, those who ask different questions get the keys. (LEE Yong Cheol)
